Meta's AI chatbot was launched last week to the public, but it has already displayed anti-Semitic sentiments and doesn't know whether Joe Biden is president.
The Meta Corporation launched BlenderBot 3 on Friday, its most advanced artificial intelligence chatbot to date, and asked users in the United States to test it out so that it could learn from as many sources as possible. As part of the machine-learning process, the technology searches the internet for information and learns through conversations.
We trained BlenderBot 3 to learn from conversations to improve the skills people value most, like healthy recipes and child-friendly amenities in the city.'
As a result, those who have used it have noted that it presents some interesting and concerning responses to various questions, including anti-Semitic stereotypes and assertions regarding election denial.
The Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz posted screenshots of his interactions with the bot, including responses that claimed Donald Trump was still president.
The bot also provided conflicting views about Donald Trump and claimed that India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the greatest president in the world. Jeff Horwitz and Business Insider both claim BlenderBot 3 deals with Jewish stereotypes.
The screenshot posted by Horwitz appeared to show that BlenderBot 3 stated that Jews were 'overrepresented among the super-wealthy in America.'.
Several other topics were also tested out by users on Twitter and elicited unusual responses. Even though it is a chatbot, the bot proclaimed to be Christian, asked for offensive jokes, and claimed to be a Christian.
