In addition to their 25-inch monitor with a 360Hz variable refresh rate, Alienware is also releasing a 27-inch Quad HD option that can overclock to 280Hz. Its two new monitors have leaner designs with smaller bases and slide-out headset stands, giving users more desk space for full-size keyboards and massive desk pads.

In terms of aesthetics, the smaller model doesn't scream gaming gear: it's all matte black plastic, with a glossy Alienware head logo and 25 on the back that doesn't light up. HDR10 support, Vesa AdaptiveSync certification, and 99 percent of sRGB color space are included in the 25-inch model.

It also comes with DisplayHDR 600 certification and a Creator Mode option, which allows you to edit videos and photos on the 27-inch while Steam is closed, giving you 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum as well as a full sRGB color space. In contrast to the smaller model, which only sports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, the IPS panel offers a 240Hz native refresh rate and Nvidia G-Sync certification.

The connectivity arrangements of both models are similar, with two HDMI 2.0 ports, four USB-A downstream ports, line out and headphone jacks, and a DisplayPort 1.4 port. In addition, Alienware's OSD settings screen is operated by a joystick, and the monitors do not require external power sources. The docking stations can't be used as laptop docking stations for office work due to the lack of USB-C connectivity.

In comparison to Dell / Alienware's other offerings like a 34-inch curved QD-OLED Alienware gaming laptop with 480Hz refresh, or 4K VRR monitors with HDMI 2.1, which work well with Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, these displays aren't particularly impressive. Nevertheless, these monitors will satisfy basic PC gaming needs, making them a good choice for esports players without an excess of frills.

In the unlikely event of a problem - including minor bright pixel defects - both monitors are covered by Dell's three-year warranty.
