An Elon Musk answer to Twitter's lawsuit regarding his attempt to back out of a $44 billion deal to buy the company must be made public by Friday evening at the latest. The lawyers for Twitter misinterpreted the court rules, argued Musk attorney Edward Micheletti. Twitter filed a lawsuit to hold Musk to the "seller-friendly" agreement after Musk indicated he wanted to back out of the agreement in July. Musk says Twitter has not provided him with adequate information about fake accounts. According to Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is deliberately trying to kill the deal because market conditions have deteriorated and the acquisition is no longer profitable. Musk or Twitter could be entitled to a $1 billion breakup fee if the other party is found at fault for the failure of the agreement. However, Twitter wants more and is seeking a court order directing Musk to follow through.
