Tesla may soon be able to use Steam, according to billionaire Elon Musk who tweeted recently. Musk said that Steam integration is currently being worked on at the company and that demonstrations can be expected as early as 'next month.'
This user posted on the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley account after reading a review of Tesla cars as gaming consoles. 'I bet you didn't know my Tesla could also be used as one,' he said.
'The Tesla company originally added games like 2048 and Beach Buggy Racing to pass time while supercharging, but now they've added a lot more games, even some that require controllers.'
As the user explained, 'video games in Tesla don't make it the first selling point, but they do make it stand out.' AMD Ryzen makes it possible for Tesla to add a bunch of new games.'
With Tesla Arcade, Tesla currently offers Cuphead and Sonic the Hedgehog, but more games could be available as a result of upgrading their cars' hardware.
Steam integration appears to be a part of the plan. According to Musk, Tesla is exploring “general Steam compatibility rather than specific titles” on Teslas.
Previous Musk comments suggested Tesla owners could expect high-end gaming performance. It's never happened before, Musk said during a demo of the latest models last month, that a car had state-of-the-art computing technology and infotainment on par with a PlayStation 5.
The executive added that Cyberpunk 2077 is compatible with the device. High frame rate. State-of-the-art games will run at 60 frames per second.'
It has received a lot of criticism recently because of its policies regarding gaming. Tesla Arcade was initially accessible only when parked, but drivers passed a safety check to gain access.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officials failed to approve Tesla's new policy, so the company reverted to its previous policy.
