The 911 salutes America in red, white, and blue

The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America is a limited edition car commemorating the 70th anniversary of Porsche's 356 America roadster from 1953.

The original was built for the American market at the request of renowned importer Max Hoffman, and had a lightweight aluminium shell, Spartan interior, and the best performance parts available, including a 70 horsepower four-cylinder boxer engine.

It wasn't a tremendous hit at the time, and only 17 were made, but collector cars today are worth upwards of $4 million.

The new model is finished in Azure Blue 356, a heritage colour based on one that was formerly available on the 356.

It also has a distinctive set of white spoke wheels with a Guards Red ring, a satin black windscreen frame, red seatbelts, red and white stitching, and 'America' decals above the rocker panels.

The GTS 473 horsepower 3.0-liter flat-six engine is standard, but it's only available with a seven-speed manual transmission.

Both rear-wheel steering and carbon ceramic brakes are optional, as is a computer-controlled adjustable suspension system.

The 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America has a starting price of $186,370, but you'll have a hard time finding one. Porsche is only producing 100 cars for the United States and 15 for Canada, despite the fact that they don't quite match the country's flag.
