The cost of the beta software for the FSD will exceed $12,000, according to Tesla

CEO Elon Musk said Tesla's 'full self-driving beta software, an advanced driver assistance system, will mean the difference between the company 'being worth a lot of money or worth zero.”

The Autopilot driver assistance system comes standard in Tesla vehicles today. With FSD, owners can one day drive fully autonomously for an additional $12,000 - a feature Musk repeatedly promised would be available one day.

The FSD also includes Summon, an active guidance feature that navigates a car from an on-ramp to an off-ramp, including interchanges, lane changes, and traffic control signals. Streets in the city are now operational with it.

Even Tesla vehicles with Full Self Driving, or FSD as it is referred to, do not drive themselves.  Human drivers are required to maintain attention and take control when necessary to use all of these capabilities.

Over 100,000 Tesla owners have deployed FSD with city navigation capabilities to date, Musk said Wednesday. Those numbers are the same as Musk gave during the company's first-quarter earnings call, which indicates adoption has not increased.

With the new version 10.13, several updates have been made to the software, including improvements to unprotected left turns, animal detection, speed limit accuracy, and pedestrian and cyclist velocity errors.

The amount by which the price of Tesla's stock is expected to increase has not been disclosed by Musk, but he did say it is currently “ridiculously cheap.”

Recently, Tesla increased the cost of FSD from a one-time payment of $10,000 to $12,000. Tesla has increased the price of FSD consistently over the years.

Musk did not say if Tesla would increase the price of the monthly subscription, which at the moment is priced at $199 for a year.

As Musk said, he did not know if Tesla would increase the cost of the monthly subscription, which is currently priced at $199 ae the beta software “with all the caveats associated with that” can use it.

The value of FSD is extremely high, and most people are unaware of it,' Musk said. Currently, the price is ridiculously low, and it will become more affordable if FSD materializes.

Was also stated by Musk that Tesla would 'solve full self-driving by the end of this year, but he did not elaborate on what he meant by the term 'solve full self-driving.

It could mean achieving Level 4 autonomy, which is when a car can operate autonomously in the vast majority of circumstances, as long as certain conditions are met, without requiring any intervention by the human driver.
