Trying to fill the void left by E3's shambling zombie corpse, the games industry is trying to fill in this month. In addition to Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, which we've lovingly dubbed 'Keigh3,' Microsoft will also be showing off its Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in the near future.
As an alternative to E3, Microsoft is doing a presentation -- around the same time and date. We suspect that this will be a disguised E3 conference. We'll see videos of upcoming games from Microsoft and Bethesda, as well as some major announcements for upcoming video games.
Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is on Sunday, June 12 at 10 a.m. PT. (That's 1 p.m. ET.) In the UK, the event starts at 6 p.m. BST on Sunday. In Australia, viewers must wake up at 3 a.m. AEST on Monday, June 13. Condolences. Australia also observes a public holiday on that day.
We will also get a 90-minute extended showcase on Tuesday, June 14, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. BST/3 a.m. AEST on Wednesday). Among them will be new trailers, in-depth looks at Sunday's news, and interviews.
Viewers can watch this event in a number of different places. The event will be available on all Xbox platforms. Live streams will be available on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and even TikTok.
I would not recommend watching this event on a vertical screen. Instead, watch it on YouTube. In the coming days, we'll embed a Livestream for the event in this post. We will also live-blog the event, so stay tuned.
I believe most people are interested in Starfield, Bethesda's next major RPG. The studio is making its next big swing with Starfield, which carries the legacy of Bethesda. A game similar to Skyrim in space will be powered by cutting-edge technology. This is reason enough to salivate.
In spite of Starfield's recent delay into 2023, I'd be surprised if it doesn't make a major appearance at this showcase.
There's always the possibility that Microsoft will unveil more big guns -- a new Forza game, perhaps, or a preview of the next Fable. As a multiplayer game, I expect Halo Infinite to get a lot of attention. New information about Game Pass may also be revealed.
