In its new 2.0 update, Pokemon Home has added support for more Pokemon games, and connecting those titles will earn you a special bonus.

With Pokemon Home, you can get free starter Pokemon from the Sinnoh and Hisui regions when you transfer a Pokemon from Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl or Pokemon Legends: Arceus.  

All Pokemon Home users who deposit a Pokemon from the games Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl will receive the three Sinnoh starter Pokemon Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. The unique thing about these monsters is that they all have their own Hidden Abilities, which are normally hard to come by.  

Connect your Nintendo Switch to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl when prompted to obtain the free starters. Save and exit Pokemon Home after moving any Pokemon from your game.

Once you've done that, open Pokemon Home on your mobile device to see the free Pokemon in the Mystery Gift box that's waiting for you.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus players who deposit a Pokemon into Pokemon Home will receive Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott from that game. They have unique characteristics as well. There are maximum effort levels for each Pokemon, so they are stronger than those you can catch in the wild.  

As with the above process, you can get the Hisui starters for free. Connect Pokemon Legends: Arceus to Pokemon Home on Nintendo Switch. Your Pokemon will appear in your Mystery Gift box once you've transferred them from the game into Pokemon Home.

To celebrate the release of Pokemon Home's 2.0 update, which adds the ability to transfer and store Pokemon from Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, free starters are being given away. On the official Pokemon website, you can read more details about the update.
