A preview of Intel Evo devices with the capability of syncing your PC with Android devices, iPhones, and smart watches was shown off at CES 2022.

How long ago was it that everyone wanted your phone and your laptop? It's finally over for Dell on a support page, the company announced it's discontinuing Mobile Connect, which syncs texts, calls, and notifications between your phone and computer.

Users in the US, Canada, and Japan will no longer be able to download it on November 30th, however, it will no longer be available to use on January 31st, 2023.

Users outside of these three countries will lose access to the service even earlier, with downloads ending on July 31st and a complete shutdown on November 30.

Known as Alienware Mobile Connect, Dell Mobile Connect made its debut in 2018 and is supposed to work best with Dell laptops released after 2018.

Mobile Connect supports both iPhone and Android phones, but it offers more features on Android devices right from the start - such as screen mirroring, which will arrive on the iPhone version in 2020.

The Windows 10 and 11 operating systems come with a similar feature called Phone Link. The Phone Link app mirrors notifications onto your PC, lets you make and receive calls, and lets you transfer files. It's important to note, however, that Phone Link doesn't support iPhones, while Mobile Connect does.

You don't have to say goodbye to Mobile Connect forever if you like its capabilities. Windows Central reports that Intel bought Screenovate, the software behind Dell Mobile Connect, in 2021.
