There is a party being thrown by Pete Lau. According to OnePlus' CEO in a community forum post, the company's upcoming 10T will launch in New York City on August 3rd.
In theory, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in the OnePlus 10T is a step up from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the OnePlus 10 Pro.
The company will also launch OxygenOS 13, which Lau says will come to the 10 Pro first and the 10T later this year.
Qualcomm claims that the 'Plus' version of the 8 Gen 1 offers faster performance as well as a better battery life compared to the 'non-plus' version.
There seems to be a hint that the 10T will be more performance-oriented than the mainstream 10 Pro, which is an attractive phone but falls a little short when compared to a phone like the Samsung Galaxy S22.
Right now, OnePlus is playing the long game by not revealing much. Sleuthing OnePlus' single image of the device reveals little in the shadowy parts, either, even after messing around with sliders in Photoshop.
There are standard wide, ultrawide, and telephoto rear lenses on this phone, which is very similar to the one on the OnePlus 10 Pro.
There's a fourth rear camera on both devices, but it's just a flash on the 10 Pro. For this second-half-of-the-year release, OnePlus couldn't have overhauled the camera system, but it's an area where the 10 Pro falls short and the 10T could improve.
Even though OnePlus is being tight-lipped, rumors, while still somewhat unconfirmed, may have provided a hint as to what the company may have up its sleeve, relating to very fast 150W charging and - brace yourself - the disappearance of the physical alert slider.
Tell me it ain't so, Pete. All will be revealed soon enough, however - the launch event will take place on the 3rd of August at 10 AM ET and will begin at 10 AM ET.
