Next up is the OnePlus Nord 2T. In this review, we look at all the OnePlus Nord phones available in the United States. Since its launch in 2017, OnePlus has been primarily a premium flagship brand with a fixed product cycle of 2-3 devices each year.
As of the second half of the year, OnePlus released a T version of the number series phone launched in the first half of the year. The company introduced a Pro option with the OnePlus 7 series.
In July 2020, OnePlus launched the 'Nord' line of smartphones as part of the expansion of its smartphone lineup. The Nord represents OnePlus' shift in the target audience and a bigger share of the smartphone pie by dropping the premium price tag.
With the OnePlus Nord 2T, which launches next month in the United States, you'll get a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset, a 50MP camera, and a fast charging speed of 80W. The Nord 2T is likely to be priced similarly to or slightly higher than Nord 2, which started at 355$.
In addition, it's evident how important the Nord segment has become to OnePlus. Some leaks suggest that OnePlus will also release a Nord Watch, which would add yet another element to its brand ecosystem. A pair of Nord earbuds are already available from OnePlus for 35$ right now.
Consumers in India can buy the OnePlus Nord starting in August 2020. Starting at 316$, the Nord goes up to 380$ for the 12GB+256GB version.
There was a time when the original Nord had the same price as the original OnePlus One. With a price range between 317$ and 380$, the Nord was aimed at mid-range smartphone users.
There was a price difference between the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 5 at the time, with the OnePlus 8 starting at 532 dollars.
It was announced in 2021 that OnePlus would expand the Nord lineup even further. CE stands for 'Core Edition', and this was the Nord CE 5G.
The device had a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor, a 64MP triple camera, and a 45000 mAh battery.
Nord CE starts at 291$, which makes it even cheaper than Nord. The new phone also puts OnePlus in direct competition with Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, and Oppo, which typically have multiple phones in a similar price range.
Following the launch of the Nord CE, the Nord 2 was launched shortly thereafter. The original Nord started at 354 dollars, which is slightly higher than this one. Additionally, OnePlus clearly stated that there would be differences between the Nord numbered versions versus the CE numbered versions.
In comparison, the Nord numbered series was more on the mid-range side, closer to Rs 30,000, whereas the CE was more on the affordable side. In addition to a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI processor, the Nord 2 featured a Qualcomm chipset, another departure from the brand's previous offerings.
Among its new features are a 90Hz display, a 50MP triple camera setup, and a 4500mAh battery that can charge in as little as 65 seconds.
Soon after, the Nord CE2 was released. 304$ will be the starting price when it launches in February 2022.
With a 6.43-inch display, 64MP camera set up, and 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging, the Mediatek Dimensity 900 phone was packed with a Mediatek Dimensity 900 chipset. As we noted in our review, the Nord CE 2 has a design that recalls Oppo rather than OnePlus.
OnePlus introduced the Nord CE 2 Lite and the OnePlus 10R for the Indian market in April 2022.
There is a new player in the 253$ segment, which is the Realme number series, that can be considered OnePlus' first true competitor for the Redmi Note series. With a starting price of 253$, the OnePlus CE 2 Lite features
The Snapdragon 695 processor found in Android smartphones such as the current Redmi Note 11 Pro+, Vivo T10 5G, Motorola G82, and Realme 9 Pro.
