'Battery killer' mistake warned to iPhone users

The iPhone battery is prone to deterioration due to a common mistake that people make with their phones.

A warning has been issued to Apple users stating that using their phones while they are connected to the charging cord may be extremely detrimental to the battery.

According to reports, there is evidence that using the device when it is charging can disrupt the charge cycle and lead to significantly shorter battery life.

In addition, this can be especially true if you use your phone to play games or watch videos, both of which are considered to be processor-intensive tasks, like movies and games.

As a result of this, the strain placed on the iPhone's battery increases since it is simultaneously charging and discharging the device simultaneously.

Consequently, people are being advised to charge their phones when they are less likely to need them, to avoid this happening.

However, this can also cause damage as each iPhone contains a lithium-ion battery that degrades over time, causing the device to function improperly.

The battery will hold less charge with time than it did when it was brand new. Additionally, keeping a battery charged and charging it at 100% can speed up the degradation process, which isn't good for the battery.

The built-in feature on Apple devices can be turned on and off to boost battery health while you sleep. To increase the lifespan of your iPhone, optimized battery charging was developed.

Thus, by reducing the amount of time your iPhone spends fully charged, you will be able to extend the battery life of your iPhone.

The result of this is your iPhone may delay the charging past 80% if you have Optimized Battery Charging activated, but only in specific circumstances.
