Keeping its mid-range smartphone portfolio competitive, Vivo continually introduces new models. Having introduced a 4G variant of the Vivo T1x in India, Vivo has now released the 5G variant of the Vivo Y30 in Thailand.

A new 5G smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC is available at an affordable price. Amid the competitive low-end segment, let's take a look at what this device has to offer.

With a 6.51-inch IPS LCD and a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels, the Vivo Y30 5G houses an HD+ display. There is also a waterdrop notch at the top of the panel as well as a 20:9 aspect ratio.

89 percent of the screen is shown on the device, according to the company. In addition to the power button, the device has an embedded fingerprint scanner. Also worth noting is the device's ability to unlock using facial recognition.

A MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC powers the Vivo Y30 5G. With 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, this device performs well. It's worth mentioning that the device has a micro SD card slot for adding more storage.

Vivo's Extended RAM feature is also included on this device. Extra RAM can be added through the internal storage for a total of 2 GB.

With Funtouch OS 12 running on top of Android 12 OS, the Vivo Y30 runs on an Android 12-based operating system. With a 5,000mAh battery and 10W charging capability, the device is powered by a battery.

A 16MP camera for video calls and selfies is available on the Vivo Y30 5G. A 50MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8 is also located on the back panel. In addition to the 2 MP camera, the Vivo Y30 5G features an LED flash.

There is also a dual SIM slot, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack on the device. There is an 8.25 mm thickness on the device and it weighs roughly 193 grams.

There is a price tag of THB 8,699 ($237) for the Vivo Y30 in Thailand. Starlight Black and Rainbow Fantasy colors will be available on the device. Rebadging of Vivo's U5e device is reportedly involved. Although the U5e has 18 W charging, there is a slight downgrade in charging speed.
