A notorious Apple insider seems to have leaked images of iPhone 14 dummy models - in a collection of photos and a video posted this week.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 14 in September 2022, but the insider released images on May 30, several months in advance. The tech insider Sonny Dickson started his blog with leaks about the iPhone 4.
Apple's iPhone 4 changed the overall look of the device from one generation of iPhone to the next by elongating and remastering its physical design.
If the new iPhone 14 leaks are true, then the design tweaks will not be as drastic as in previous years.
A leak indicates that the lineup will include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
TomsGuide reported that the iPhone 14 Max would be a new tier of iPhone that would borrow some features but not all from the Pro Max. The iPhone 14's rear-camera bed will be raised like that of the iPhone 13.
On 3D mockups of the unreleased device, a sizing test revealed that the camera bed might be larger, possibly to accommodate a larger lens.
There is insufficient resolution in the video to confirm or deny whether the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models will ditch the notch at the top of the screen.
In dummy models, the charging port looks like the Lightning port on every iPhone since 2012, but the hole is large enough to fit a USB-C port.
The European Union is expected to compel tech companies to adopt USB-C as a universal charger to combat e-waste.
