Google's Foldable Pixel Phone May Be Postponed Until 2023

According to new reports, Google's rumored foldable Pixel smartphone won't be released any time soon.

There have been rumors that a device, possibly called the Pixel Notepad, will launch by the end of 2022.

Reports from The Elec (via 9to5Google) suggest that the phone's launch has been put off because it may not have been as complete as Google would like.

Providing foldable panels could also pose a problem.

Samsung Display was supposed to supply the Pixel Notepad with its foldable, 7.58-inch main display, but the company is busy manufacturing panels for Samsung's own devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Ross Young also mentioned that the foldable Pixel has been postponed, citing sources within Google's supply chain.

Young reports the phone will launch next spring, and leaker Jon Prosser also sees the device coming out next year.

There was an interesting note when Google introduced a bunch of new and upcoming products at the Google I/O 2016 conference however, the Pixel Notepad was not one of them.

If the Pixel Notepad launches, it will be Google's first foldable smartphone.

If Google's Pixel 6a comes to market nearly one year from now, these specifications may not match what has been previously reported.
