The new Camera Bump in the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro Max is reportedly going to be bigger than that of what Apple has ever done before. The new phone is expected to have the largest rear lens housing Apple has ever installed on its flagship smartphones.
A new photo has come put claiming the fact that the camera bump will be bigger in the new phone in comparison to the previous ones. It also offered a rare glimpse at just how prominent it is compared to Apple's predecessor device.
All the new iPhone 14 models are expected to see upgrades to the Ultra Wide Camera on the rear of the device, but the iPhone Pro models could see significant improvements to the main wide-angle camera and updates to the telephoto lens.
The tech analysts are revealing that the 48-megapixel camera on the iPhone 14 Pro versions will offer 8K video recording capabilities and a significant upgrade over the present 12-megapixel camera.
The new camera is also most likely capable of 12-megapixel photos thanks to a technique called pixel-binning, which combines information from several tiny pixels on the image sensor into one 'super-pixel' for increased sensitivity in low light.
This will force Apple to substantially increase the height of the rear camera housing on the Pro models. The camera bump on the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be 4.17mm thick, up from 3.60mm in the iPhone 13 Pro Max
The size of the camera bump is also expected to expand about 5 percent in each direction, going from the current width of 35.01mm to 36.73mm and height of 36.24mm to 38.21mm.
Users will have to choose whether the enormous camera housing is a worthwhile trade-off for the improved photo capabilities, but suffice it to say that cases made for the iPhone 13 models are unlikely to suit the iPhone 14 models due to the size increase.
