Leaked images of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 show a potentially less noticeable crease

Leaked images of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 show a potentially less noticeable crease

A set of unofficial renders showed what the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 could look like last month, but now we have a look at the actual device in images shared by YouTuber TechTalkTV. The images match up with the earlier renders and let us see what the device's display crease looks like, which is virtually nonexistent.

One image shows the device's display when it's flipped open, and you are able to see where the crease is typically located. However, because it is difficult to tell what the crease will look like when viewed from just one angle, it may not be visible at all.

When you tilt the Galaxy Z Flip 3 the right way, you can see pretty clearly where there is a crease on the phone.

Deputy editor Dan Seifert noted in his review of the phone that it isn't a problem in everyday use, and it is easy to forget once you're used to it. Samsung may further improve the crease on its next phone, but we'll have to wait until we've seen the actual device before we know just how substantial the crease is.

Similar to the renders, the leaked images of the alleged Galaxy Z Flip 4 demonstrate a device that bears several similarities to its predecessor, including the two-tone color scheme, dual cameras, and a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Though the hinge appears slimmer, there is still a slight gap between the two sides of the device when it's folded shut.

According to the source, both the main and ultrawide cameras on the device will be 12 megapixels, and the front-facing camera will be 10 megapixels, which is a bit disappointing if true - unlike the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the front camera was prone to adverse conditions.

Sources also report that a bigger 3700mAh battery will be included along with upgraded 25W fast-charging capability.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and its horizontally-folding counterpart, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, are likely to be unveiled by Samsung in August.
