Google's next-generation Pixel smartphones were unveiled nearly three months ago on the eve of Google I/O 2022. This self-released leak has already confirmed that the Pixel 7 lineup will look very similar to the Pixel 6 series.
The Pixel 7 smartphones inherit the instantly recognizable Pixel camera bar design from the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and the recently released Pixel 6a. The Pixel 7 series features a pill-and-dot camera cutout, a subtle change from previous Pixel models.
Google did not reveal the Pixel 7 lineup's key hardware specifications or the expected launch date for the devices at Google I/O 2022.
According to recent reports emerging from generally trusted leaker Jon Prosser, the Pixel 7 series will follow a similar timeline in 2022 to the Pixel 6 series, which were announced in mid-October and released in late October.
He announced what he thinks will be the day when Google officially announces the Pixel 7 lineup in a recent post on his website. According to Prosser, pre-orders for the Google Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro will start on October 6, 2022. Also, he expects Google to hold its launch event on October 6.
Additionally, Prosser claims that both models will be available for purchase on October 13. The sources Prosser sites are reputable, but he did not name them. We have few reasons to disbelieve Prosser's claims this time around given his track record of Google and Apple leaks.
Google has done an excellent job of keeping the rest of the Pixel 7 series' specs under wraps, although we know what the phones look like.
There was some discussion on social media about the expected camera setup on the Pixel 7 series. According to a recent leak, the Pixel 7 may retain the same 50MP camera sensor that we saw on the Pixel 6 series.
It is likely, however, that the front-facing camera will be upgraded to an 11MP Samsung JN1 sensor. You should, however, take all tech-related leaks with a grain of salt, just as you would with any other.
There is always the possibility that Google may make last-minute changes to the Pixel 7 launch timeline given that October 6 is still almost two months away.
