As of today, Samsung's Android 13-flavored One UI 5 OS is available as a beta on the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone. Similarly to Android 13, the majority of the changes are cosmetic, along with improvements to security, notifications, the camera, and more.

Android 13 may offer significant improvements for foldable phones like Samsung's Galaxy Fold 4, which will be unveiled on August 10th.

Samsung is releasing OS updates more quickly these days since One UI 5 launched more than a month earlier than UI 4 last year. With 12 new color options for the home screen, icons, and quick panels, it takes advantage of Android 13's theme redesign.

In addition, it lets you stack widgets and add accessibility features like a Magnifier tool to zoom in on texts and objects. Moreover, it adds a system for reading your keyboard entry aloud.

You'll also see Android 13 updates like new notification settings that require apps to request permission before sending notifications.

A new security dashboard can check to perform a security and privacy check, and you'll be able to set your preferred language on an app-by-app basis.

A foldable Android 13 appears to be designed for devices like the Fold 3 that have different display sizes, resolutions, and pixel densities.

This feature is already available on the Fold 3, but native Android 13 support might open up more options, like enhanced productivity applications.

Our first look at Unpacked will take place on August 10th at 9 a.m. ET. You can test the One UI 5 update if you live in the US, South Korea, or Germany and have a Galaxy S22 by downloading the Samsung Members app, but bear in mind that beta software comes with its own risks.
