A new flagship device will be launched by Motorola in markets around the world soon. A Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is available globally, while a Motorola Edge X30 Pro is available in China. 7:30 pm (local time) is the scheduled launch time in China. Taking a look at what the device has to offer, let's see what we can expect.
According to the leaked renders, Motorola Edge X30 Pro looks great from every angle. There are curved edges on both sides of the device's back. There are flat edges on the top and back of the device.
Two smaller cutouts and one large camera cutout are located on the back of the device. There is a power button, a volume rocker, and a USB-C port on the right side of the Edge X30, as well as a speaker grill and a SIM slot on the bottom.
The smartphone will feature a 6.73-inch pOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. A punch-hole design will be featured on the curved-edge panel. In-display fingerprint sensors will be included with the device.
TSMC's 4nm node manufactures the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset that will power the smartphone. In the Edge X30, the new chipset is expected to boost CPU and GPU performance by 7% and 10%, respectively.
Up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage are expected to be included in the device. Featuring a 4,500mAh battery and 125W fast charging support, it will have a capacity of 4,500mAh.
The camera setup on this device makes it unique. It is almost certain to be equipped with a Samsung ISOCELL HP1 200-megapixel primary camera sensor measuring 1/1.22'.
An all-new ChameleonCell technology powers the sensor, which uses pixel-binning technology based on two-by-two, four-by-four, or full pixels depending on the environment. A maximum field of view loss of less than 5% is possible when taking 8K videos at 30 frames per second.
With the HP1, four neighboring pixels are merged to bring the resolution down to 50MP, so you can take 8K videos without cropping. By merging 16 neighbors, the HP1 transforms into a 12.5-megapixel image sensor with large 2.56*m pixels, capable of more light absorption and sensitivity, as well as producing brighter and clearer photos in low-light conditions. Ultra-high-definition photos can be captured in bright outdoor environments, however.
A 50-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensor will also be featured on the back of the Edge X30 Pro, in addition to the primary sensor. Ultra-wide and telephoto cameras could be affected. An impressive 60-megapixel selfie camera is said to be on the front of the device. There isn't much information about the device's price, but it is confirmed that it will start at more than 3,000 yuan.
