The Pixel 6a, a mid-range smartphone from Google, was recently launched in India.

As of yesterday (July 28), the smartphone was released to the public, and it is already receiving its first software update.

A first software update has begun to be applied to the Google Pixel 6a. Even though the software update does not bring any new features to the smartphone, it only increases the Android security patch level to June 2022 the smartphone.

As a result, Google is expected to skip over the July security patch and is expected to roll out the security patch for the Pixel 6a in August, rather than July.

The company is rolling out the software update phase by phase and all users should have it by the end of the week.

To inform users about the update, they will receive a push notification on their phones. Manually checking for updates can also be done by going to Settings> System> System Updates.

It has been announced that Google will provide the Pixel 6a with five years of security updates, in addition to all the latest features and updates. Also, Google is set to roll out Android 13 to Pixel 6a along with its other upcoming Android devices.

It is estimated that the Google Pixel 6a will cost Rs 43,999 at the starting price point. The smartphone can be purchased online on Flipkart if you wish to purchase it.
