The company is reportedly working on its first foldable smartphone. A new update from OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau on Friday offered hints about the development of a foldable smartphone without confirming its name.

The foldable smartphone category is currently dominated by Samsung. Xiaomi recently released Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. China has also received the Moto Razr 2022. Oppo, OnePlus' sister company, also launched a foldable smartphone at the end of last year, the Find N.

A Twitter user, Pete Lau, posted a picture with the tagline 'What do you think this is?'. OnePlus' upcoming phone may have a folding screen hinge mechanism.

As of now, there is no official confirmation from OnePlus regarding the OnePlus Fold, but it is generally speculated that it will go on sale very soon. The device is rumored to come with Android 13, which is the latest version of the OS.

A foldable phone from OnePlus has not yet been revealed. Although it offers some similarities to Oppo's Find N, which was launched in December 2021, it could also have some differences.

With a 7.1-inch inward folding display that refreshes at 120Hz, the Oppo Find N has a 5.49-inch cover OLED display. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

An Oppo Find N camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens.

The phone also has a 32-megapixel camera on the outside screen, a 32-megapixel camera on the inside screen, and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC wired charging.

The Foldable Smartphone Market is currently dominated by Samsung, according to a report that was published by Display Supply Chain Consultants. Recently, Samsung unveiled its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The likes of Huawei, Motorola, and Xiaomi are also releasing foldable models. In China, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 and Moto Razr 2022 debuted recently, while Huawei has its Mate X and Mate X2 foldable smartphones.
