As we approach August 10, it will look like there will be a parade of foldable phones descending from the skies, and it's not going to be easy to stop them.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will kick off Samsung's launch in August, followed by Motorola's Razr 2022 on August 11.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has also joined the foldable phone party, announcing that its next foldable flagship device, the MIX Fold 2, would be available on August 11.
The company posted a teaser poster for the phone on its Weibo handle, showing what appears to be the phone's metallic hinge on the poster.
The poster doesn't reveal much else, except that the Mix Fold 2 will also use Leica's recently announced partnership with Xiaomi to provide users with an enhanced experience.
The Mix Fold 2 is expected to inherit the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 when it is released in 2019. There is a possibility that your device will fold inwards and have a display on the outside.
The new foldable phone is said to have a cover that measures 6.5 inches in width and an 8-inch folding display on the back.
A 120Hz refresh rate might be achievable on both of the screens with one of them improving upon the 60Hz refresh rate of the original Mix Fold.
The company has also apparently improved the creasing on the flexible screen as well as added LTPO technology to the mix.
The Mi Mix Fold launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, so, likely, the Mix Fold 2 will also feature a Qualcomm SoC, perhaps the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. It won't be long before we find out.
