Apple's 2022 fall launch schedule will feature the iPhone 14 series. New tablets may also be in the pipeline. So far, not much reliable information has leaked about the iPhone 14, but crumbs of possible improvements are making their way around social media.
The iPad Pro refresh this year isn't expected to change much. Another generation will probably feature a metallic chassis, a squircle camera island, and a uniform bezel. Things can get interesting with wireless charging.
The iPad Pro's final design will be affected by Apple's final decision regarding wireless charging hardware. So far, we haven't heard anything new about the iPad Pro's final design. Whatever route Apple takes, the perk will be valuable.
The 2022 iPad Pro refresh will support wireless charging and have a larger battery in the shell. Users can also charge their iPhones and earbuds by placing them over the tablet. Android phones use the tech.
An iPad rumor that has been circulating all year doesn't have anything to do with features. It predicts that Apple will go all-in on the size of its Pro tablet, similar to Samsung's giant Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
A user used to working on a 16-inch MacBook Pro would find the iPad Pro's 12.9-inch screen cumbersome. iPads come with laptop-class features, like Stage Manager and Universal Control, so it makes sense that Apple exploits even bigger tablets.
A year after Apple switched to a mini-LED panel for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, there was hope that the smaller 11-inch model would also get the same treatment. At least this year, it doesn't seem like that will happen.
As such, it appears that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will stick with a mini-LED panel in 2022, whereas the 11-inch iPad Pro will feature an LCD. OLED screens for Apple's tablets may take another year, or two, to become a reality.
Apple's iPad Pro lineup possesses the M1 silicon, which is also found in a handful of Mac products. iPad Pro refreshes are expected to include Apple's next-generation M2 chip this year.
Apple's Fall event will unveil new phones and tablets. AirPods Pro 2 quite possibly as well. According to reports, Apple will launch new hardware in 2022 during the September-October period.
A 12.9-inch iPad Pro without cellular connectivity starts at $1,099 for the base model with the M1 chip. Other than dark gray and silver, Apple has not yet announced any new colors for the iPad Pro.
