What you need to do to block a number on an Android smartphone

If you receive unsolicited sales calls as well as robocalls or spam calls on your Android phone, you may want to block that number. It is possible to block these numbers permanently or to unblock them at any time on your Android phone.

You can easily block a number on your Android device. In fact, there are a number of ways to do so, and they may differ slightly from one manufacturer to another.

Your Android device's Phone app provides you with an easy method of blocking a specific number. To do so, open the Phone application and select the More option with the three dots, and then select Call History. Following this, you will be able to view a list of calls that you have received and made.

By selecting the telephone number of the call you wish to block, you can choose Block/report spam. Your device has now been blocked from receiving calls from this number, and you will no longer receive any calls from this number.

You can easily unblock a number on your Android smartphone if you have accidentally blocked a number or if you want to unblock a number you have previously blocked.

If you want to unblock a number on your Android device, open the Phone App and select More with the three dots. Afterward, select Settings > Blocked numbers. Once this process has been completed, you will see a list of telephone numbers that have been blocked on your device.

When you select the phone number you wish to unblock on your Android phone, select the Clear option and then click Unblock. Now that this telephone number is no longer blocked on your handset, you will be able to receive telephone calls again.

We sometimes receive spam calls or robocalls from persons who have hidden their numbers. There is an option on Android phones to block all unknown numbers.

The easiest way to block all unknown telephone numbers on your Android device is to open the Phone app on your device, then go to More with the three dots, then go to Settings > Blocked numbers, then turn on the setting for Unknown.

It is possible to turn this setting back on at any time by following the steps above. If you do not wish to receive calls from unknown telephone numbers, you will need to turn off this setting.
