Apple announced new customizable lock screen features during its WWDC 2022 keynote Monday. With iOS 16, you'll be able to customize how the lock screen looks.

In addition to rotating through lock screen images automatically, filters can be enabled, fonts and colors can be changed, widgets can be added, and more.

This is a welcome upgrade if you've been looking forward to breaking free from Apple's traditional limited personalization capabilities.

For information like weather, activity rings, and calendar events at a glance, you can also add widgets directly to the lock screen.

You can open the Widget Gallery by tapping the plus sign under the clock. Drag widgets from the gallery onto your lock screen and you're done.

The Photo Shuffle option allows you to shuffle through your photos throughout the day. You can also browse the Suggested Photos library to find intelligently curated photos from your photo library.
