With Snapdragon 480, Honor X8 5G smartphone is introduced

The Honor X8 5G smartphone was just announced in Shenzhen [China] on September 20th, which is supposed to be the 5G version of the Honor X8, which has already been released in March. 

It is, however, more than just adding support for 5G connectivity that makes this an exciting innovation.

The new X8 5G smartphone is said to be equipped with a smaller 6.5-inch IPS LCD with 720 x 1600 pixels of resolution which is the first thing listed by GSM Arena. 

The Snapdragon 680 SoC has been replaced by the Snapdragon 480+, which is a faster and more powerful alternative, despite its older manufacturing process and lower clock speed. 

There is only one memory option, and it is 6GB/128GB, which is the only option available.

Honor had to cut some corners to maintain its price, so the 64MP camera has been replaced with a 48MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, and the 5MP ultrawide camera has been replaced with a 12MP camera.

Aside from the 2MP macro camera and the 2MP depth sensor, the X8 5G has a reduced number of sensors.  As well as the selfie has been downgraded to 8MP f/2.0, which can also be seen in this image.

It has been reported by GSM Arena that the smartphone is equipped with a five thousand mAh battery that is capable of fast charging up to 22.5W, while the smartphone is offered in two colors: Ocean Blue and Midnight Black. 

Sadly, there are no details on pricing or availability at the moment, so we have no idea what to expect.
