Solved a flaw

Facebook has solved a flaw that flooded news feeds with celebrity spam.

DownDetector has been flagging this peculiar problem since 1.30 a.m. ET / 6.30 a.m. BST. Multiple users claimed that their main News Feed was flooded with postings from Eminem, Lady Gaga, Gorillaz, Nirvana, and The Beatles.

Twitter trended

Twitter trended #facebookhacked and #facebookdown in numerous countries today.

Meta, Facebook's parent corporation, blamed a 'configuration update' 'We addressed the issue as swiftly as possible and apologies for any inconvenience,' the representative said.

While this glitch was short-lived and none of Tom's Guide's staff experienced it, it's humiliating for Facebook.
