It has informed its employees that on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every third day, they will be required to work from the office.

In its latest return attempt after several delays caused by Covid-19 spikes, Apple set a September 5 deadline for corporate employees to be in the office three days a week.

In addition to Tuesdays and Thursdays, employees will have a regular third day to work from the office that will be determined by their individual teams.

In its original plan, Apple planned to hold in-person meetings on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. A new approach was announced to employees on Monday.

Founded in Cupertino, California, the tech giant first announced its three-day policy in June 2021. Its workers were forced to work only two days each week because of virus flare-ups. The new policy will first be implemented in Silicon Valley, then spread to other offices.

Other COVID-19 adjustments have been made by Apple. The new policy follows the company's recent decision to drop its mandatory mask policy in common areas. It was removed several months ago from Apple's individual desk policies.

Additionally, the company hosted an in-person developer conference presentation at its campus in June. It was the first time Apple had done that since 2019 and it indicated that its operations were returning to normal.

The daily COVID case count in Santa Clara County, where many of Apple's main offices are located, has declined since July, but remains significantly higher than before the Omicron spike in January 2022. Despite this, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed their COVID-19 recommendations last week.

The iPhone maker has been one of the strictest technology companies when it comes to requiring employees to return to work, Bloomberg News reports. In recent months, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet's Google, and others have become more open to remote work.

The Apple team is busy at the moment. Apple is preparing to announce its new watches and iPhone 14 at an event in September. The company is also preparing updated Mac laptops and iPad tablets for launch later this year.
