NASA's Orion spacecraft and next-generation Space Launch System rocket will lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on August 29 after undergoing rigorous testing.

A five-part series called Artemis I, Path to the Pad will be released by the space agency as part of the buildup to the highly anticipated mission Artemis I.

Below is the trailer for the NASA YouTube channel's first part, which will be streamed on Friday, August 12. As part of the Artemis I mission, NASA will launch its most powerful rocket in history.

As part of the SLS mission, a crewless Orion capsule will be launched toward the moon for a flyby before returning to Earth. During Orion's journey, he will cover 1.3 million miles and take 42 days to complete.

As well as the spacecraft and rocket, NASA's mission will mark the first flight test of both.

During NASA's flight with Artemis II, a crew will board the craft, in case everything goes as planned.

As Artemis III heads for the moon to place a woman and the first person of color on the moon's surface, space fans will be able to settle in for the most thrilling crewed mission since the Apollo program five decades ago.

A 2025 launch date has not been confirmed for the Artemis III mission, but it may occur as soon as 2025.

Later missions will use new technologies to explore more of the moon than ever before, as crews establish a long-term human presence on the lunar surface.

As NASA prepares for its first human voyages to Mars, it wants to learn what it can from its crewed lunar missions.

Neither NASA nor its partners specify the time or day of the premiere of the first part of Artemis I, Path to the Pad, but they do say it will be released on Friday, August 12. If you're interested in watching it, head to its YouTube channel on Friday or any other time afterward.
