An object found on Mars that resembles noodles intrigues NASA

NASA's Perseverance Mars rover recently discovered something especially strange as it traversed the Red Planet - a coiled mess of unidentified, string-like material that almost resembles a network of spaghetti noodles as it moves through the planet.

The oddity is that although it would be very interesting to know that extraterrestrial life also enjoys wonderful linguine, ramen, or any other pasta-based meal

It is more likely that this is a piece of NASA space junk left over from Percy's arrival in 2021, so it probably has little to do with food.

The probe has been tucked inside a rock-like structure about two kilometers from where it landed last year - formerly attached to a rocket-powered jet pack that helped it land on the dusty surface of our cosmic neighbor.

Percy hasn't come across NASA litter on the otherwise pristine planet before, but it isn't the first time he has seen it. Earlier this month, the rover discovered what is believed to be a piece of thermal blanket on the surface of Mars

In the Jezero Crater, a fascinating region of the Red Planet that contains what is believed to be an ancient river delta, Percy, with its pet rock hopefully still in tow, is busy collecting a variety of precious specimens from the Jezero Crater, an intriguing region that contains what is believed to be an ancient river delta.

There is a great deal of hope among scientists that the rocky materials recovered from the crater will provide clues as to whether microbial life was once present on Mars.

NASA continues to hold the line that the samples should return to Earth by 2033, but this return trip - which has already caused a fair share of drama in and of itself - is still over a decade away from completion logistically speaking.

In the meantime, Percy will stay in touch with his family through photos and we'll keep an eye out for any more space spaghetti that might be found in the future.
