SpaceX's Cargo Dragon spacecraft has splashed down off the Florida coast carrying a variety of scientific experiments from the International Space Station. The spacecraft splashed down in the ocean near Cape Canaveral at 2:53 PM

The 25th cargo mission to the ISS was completed by SpaceX on Saturday, August 20, at 1:52 p.m. ET. On Friday, August 19, Cargo Dragon undocked.

the Harmony module of the International Space Station at 11:00 a.m. Earth time, returning to Earth throughout the morning and overnight. It arrived on Saturday.

The Dragon had been at the ISS for approximately a month after arriving on Saturday, July 15. It contained more than 4,000 pounds of supplies and research for the crew.

Around 4,000 pounds of cargo were returned to Earth by the spacecraft on its return trip, including the results of various scientific experiments conducted on board the space station.

In March this year, a leak caused water to pool inside the helmet of astronaut Matthias Maurer during a spacewalk, resulting in the return of parts of an EMU or extravehicular mobility unit.

The incident ultimately led NASA to suspend spacewalks so the issue could be investigated, despite NASA's assurances that Maurer was not in danger.

In response to Maurer's request, NASA has returned parts of his spacesuit to the Dragon spacecraft for 'further analysis and possible repairs.'

The crew remains in good health and continues to work on the station, and there are no scheduled U.S. operating segment spacewalks in the near future.”

As part of the Dragon, various materials and components were studied for their ability to withstand the orbital environment, including components for future spacecraft and radiation protective wear, a cooling system for spacesuits, and experiments to create bandages from a patient's own cells if they were injured on the station, using “bio-inks.”
