Reuters reports that Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin launched its fifth crewed mission on Saturday after last month's launch was delayed by a New Shepard rocket's backup system that did not meet expectations.
The company's fourth flight successfully landed in west Texas in March after taking six passengers to the edge of space for a 10-minute flight.
'It was an honor to fly this remarkable crew of explorers and pioneers today,' said Phil Joyce, Senior Vice President for New Shepard
'Each mission provides six more people with the opportunity to witness the beauty and fragility of our planet from space.'
It lasts about 10 minutes from liftoff to landing and reaches an altitude of about 350,000 feet (106 km). Passengers experience weightlessness for a few moments before parachutes land on Earth.
SpaceX and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic are among a handful of companies attempting to make space travel a reality through ongoing efforts.
