The first manned lunar mission since Apollo could land in these zones, according to NASA

NASA hasn't even launched its Artemis I mission, and it's already planning where to land humans in the future. NASA today unveiled several potential landing zones for Artemis III, all centered on the south pole of the Moon.

NASA's Artemis III mission will be the first to return humans to the Moon since the last Apollo mission in 1972. As NASA strives to make this momentous occasion as memorable as possible, it is a momentous occasion.

The space agency has identified 13 possible landing zones for Artemis III. In each of the 13 landing zones, NASA says there are multiple possible landing sites.

The space agency may need to conduct more research or gather more details before determining an exact figure.

NASA says that each of the 13 regions will pose its benefits and challenges, with all 13 centered around the Moon's south pole. Furthermore, there are many craters in this area and it is very mountainous.

As a result, astronauts should have a lot of opportunities to explore and dig into the deep. To select these 13 Artemins III landing zones, NASA used data from its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and decades of studies and publications.

As part of the evaluation, the team explored the best way to accommodate a safe landing as well as how the surrounding area would be beneficial to exploration and observation. Each region holds potential discoveries, NASA says.

With NASA already working on new spacesuits and a new Moon rover, the Artemis III mission is starting to take shape. The Artemis III landing zones were selected based on how often they receive sunlight.

A continuous 6.5-day period of sunlight is received by all 13 regions. In terms of schedule, NASA plans to launch Artemis III on the surface for three years. To live on the moon for a long time, it is necessary to have access to sunlight constantly.

As well as providing power, it also minimizes temperature fluctuations.NASA has not yet announced a launch date for this historic mission. We're one step closer to putting humans back on the moon with these 13 Artemis III landing zones.
