The Internet is duped by a French physicist who claims that a Chorizo picture was taken by NASA's James Webb

A well-known French physicist apologized on Twitter after posting what appeared to be an image from a cross-section of chorizo but was a picture of the James Webb Space Telescope.

A slice of chorizo is shown in this picture, which French physicist Etienne Klein claims to be a brand-new image captured by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope and was taken by the telescope in March of this year.

As he revealed later, it was just a 'prank' and he cautioned people to be wary of what they see at first glance when they witness it. Etienne Klein, a researcher at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, shared the image on Twitter on July 31.

As I tweeted, the chorizo is Proxima Centauri, a star almost as big as the Sun. As users debated Klein's joke on Twitter, Klein apologized and explained that he had not intended to surprise anyone but to remind others to always exercise skepticism and not trust what they see at first.

As a result, the physicist clarified that this was his way of having fun and called the prank a 'scientists' joke.'This is a photo of Proxima Centauri, located 4.2 light years from us.

She was taken by the JWST. This level of detail. A new world is revealed every day,' Klein wrote in his prank tweet. The prank became an instant meme with several Twitter users, but some people took it seriously coming from Klein, a scientific authority.

One user said, 'Coming from a scientific research director, it's quite inappropriate to share this type of thing without specifying from the very first tweet that it is false information.'A user, however, countered that politicians are doing 'the same thing.'

However, our politicians do the same thing, except now it negatively affects 67 million people, but it's better to be offended by a joke than to protest government 'baguettes,' said the user.

A few hours after his apology, Klein shared a different image from the James Webb Space Telescope, claiming it was this time 'real.'It features James Webb's recently released Cartwheel Galaxy, which is both beautiful and chaotic.

With the Cartwheel and two smaller companion galaxies set against the backdrop of numerous galaxies, Webb captured this crisp, detailed image using his infrared vision.

NASA has recently released a photo featuring a dramatic stellar event that is on the verge of a violent collision between two smaller galaxies, including a massive pink-speckled galaxy, according to the NASA statement that accompanied the news.
