There is going to be a massive supermoon next week, so here's how to see it

On Wednesday, July 13, the Buck supermoon will be visible to the naked eye. Here's what you need to know. With the last supermoon occurring in June, next week marks the third of the year's supermoons.

Essentially, the two factors that make a supermoon a supermoon are the lunar perigee (when the moon is closest to the earth), as well as the full moon.

There is about a 7 percent increase in size and a 15 percent increase in brightness when compared with normal full moons.

In the month of February, we will be able to see one of the biggest and brightest supermoons of the year since the full moon is lower in the sky this month.

How to see the supermoon?

The moon will rise nine hours after the lunar perigee, on July 13 at 7.38 pm in the east, just nine hours after the date of the lunar perigee.

A few hours after it sets in the west, the sun will rise in the east at 7.21 am on July 14, just after sunrise.

It is possible that binoculars will be useful for those who want a close-up view of the supermoon, but viewers won't be dependent on anything other than themselves to enjoy the show. There will be a maximum appearance in the afternoon near the horizon when the sun sets.

No worries, the full moon will not be visible on this day either, so don't worry if you don't get to see it. In the remainder of this week, it is expected to remain large through the middle of next week.

July's moon

The Buck Moon occurs on the full moon of July.  Since this moon is in full growth mode, its name is derived from a male deer who grows his antlers at a rapid pace, giving the moon its name.

There are two other names for the full moon in July as well as Thunder Moon and Berry Moon, but neither of them is exclusively for the full moon In this month's lunar cycle, a quarter moon will come on July 20 and the new moon will come on July 28 as part of the full moon cycle
