As a follow-up to its announcement that deleting a message in a group can be done by the group admin, Meta-owned WhatsApp is now releasing a feature that enables group admins to delete a group message as well as messages belonging to that group. As WABetaInfo reports, at the moment, the feature is only being rolled out to some lucky beta testers, which means that it will be some time before it becomes available to all other accounts.

There will be more activations following over the coming weeks, so if you are a group administrator and you cannot delete messages sent by other members, please wait for a future update. Several more activations are expected in the coming weeks, the report said.

There is a report from the WhatsApp team that mentions that this is a significant feature for group admins since they are now able to better moderate the WhatsApp groups they manage. As well as that, all other group participants can see that a certain group admin has deleted a message for everyone in the group when the message is deleted for everyone in the group.

Recently, WhatsApp for iOS users has started allowing them to watch Status notifications directly from WhatsApp's chat list, allowing them to keep up with the latest updates. This beta version 22.18.0.70 will allow users to view status updates within the chat list within the BETA version 22.18.0.0 was released to a few beta testers, so it is not yet available to everyone.
