Among Android beta testers, WhatsApp adds the ability to view status updates in chat lists
It has been reported that WhatsApp has released a new feature to beta testers that allows them to view status updates within their chat list. A report suggests that the WhatsApp beta for Android version 18.104.22.168 includes the new feature. It had previously been under development. Users can view status updates by clicking on the display picture of contact within the chat list. The report also highlighted the possibility of disabling the new feature by muting all status updates.
According to a report by WhatsApp features tracker WABetainfo, the instant messaging platform has released WhatsApp beta for Android version 22.214.171.124 to some beta testers. Among the new features of WhatsApp's beta version is the ability to view status updates from contacts in their chat list. The Meta-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp, will reportedly allow users to click on a contact's display picture to directly view their status updates in their chat list.
As per the report, more beta testers could be rolled out the feature in the coming weeks. As a result, the feature can be disabled by muting all status updates in the WhatsApp for Android app. It is also expected that the above-mentioned beta will be released for iOS soon. There has been no official announcement of when this feature will be released by WhatsApp. The WhatsApp instant messaging platform recently launched a native Windows app. The company also released a beta version of the native Mac app.
WhatsApp claims that the native Windows app provides increased reliability and speed. According to WhatsApp, it was designed and optimized for desktop operating systems. Earlier reports said WhatsApp had started rolling out a beta version of its Android app with undo delete messages support. Users are reportedly able to recover accidentally deleted messages under this feature.
